What's with all the acronymns that CCC has?! My mom is always saying Campus Crusade for Christ has their own secret language. So I thought I'd just let all in on our "secret language". Here's an incomplete list:
CCC = Campus Crusade for Christ
CCCI - Campus Crusade for Christ International
STINT = Short Term INTernational (a one to two year missions trip)
ICS = International Campus Staff (long-term overseas), what I am now going to do in Japan
SI = Student Impact, Japan's student ministry
Epic = Campus Crusade's Asian American ministry, it's not an acronymn (though my friends have made up their own acronymns of what Epic COULD stand for!)
MPD = Ministry Partner Development. Every CCC staff member has a team of "ministry partners" to support them prayerfully, emotionally, financially, practically, etc.. MPD is the process of building that team.
IBS = Institute of Biblical Studies (every staff member has to go through this to join staff)
NST = New Staff Training
SV = Student Venture, CCC's high school ministry
SYATP = See You At the Pole, a national prayer day for high school students
TnT = the computer program CCC staff use to monitor their financial support
EFT = Electrontic Fund Transfer (donations can be direct deposited to CCC's central fund)
The relational acronymns . . . (not CCC specific, but we use these a lot too - some more than others)
DMI - Declare My Intentions
DTR = Define the Relationship
CTF = Clarify the Friendship
CR = Conflict Resolution
CTA = Clear The Air (very similar to Conflict Resolution!)
And I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of any right now. Can you? Or if you have questions and can't understand what I'm saying sometimes, please don't hesitate to ask!! =)

I regularly get your subscriptions, but this entry is definitely was a standout
Each fellowship group seems to have their own set of acronyms in an "attempt" to make things easier. IVCF has their own lingo I'm sure (tho I must admit that I am not in that loop as before).
Didn't know that EFT and SYATP were CC specific! Thought that they were more universal in the banking and Xn world haha
DMI...would that naturally evolved from DTR? Just wondering...
And finally, TnT? Is that a derivative of Oracle or SAP database system?
@mtang - you're right michael, syatp is not ccc specific, and probably eft isn't either. but since ccc has sv, syatp is commonly used among sv staff. and since i'm raising support, i'm using "eft" a lot (and i've only used it when talking about joining staff!)
and yes, you would have to have a dtr eventually after a dmi either to say we are romantically involved or we are just friends and that's it. and it's the guy who does the dmi and dtr!! (hopefully)
um, i have no idea what oracle or sap is, but tnt is a database system!!
whew, welcome to my world! if you could understand what i just wrote that's pretty good.
hehe, I remember one of the first epic meetings I attended when I first came to davis and you went through all of these things with everyone. you did miss LHDE which you said meant Let Her/Him Down Easy but there were a few more and I'm sure at the end of one of your xangas I mentioned all of them.
I forget who told me but at one of the epic conferences the said that epic wasn't an acronym but actually short for Epicenter...like in an earthquake. so epics were supposed to be these earth moving centers with the energy moving out and spreading. Epic itself is a pretty awesome word though but yep...epicenter.
